DESCRIPTION

Hans Josephsohn was a Swiss sculptor born in Königsberg, East Prussia. He fled Nazi Germany in 1938, eventually settling in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1939. Throughout his six-decade career, he focused on the human figure, creating works such as busts, torsos, and standing or reclining figures that explored the essence of human presence. He studied under Otto Müller and developed an independent artistic language, often working in plaster before casting in bronze or brass.
