Johann Louw is a South African artist born in Bellville, Cape Town. He graduated with a Masters in Fine Art from Stellenbosch University in 1992. Known for his intense, often melancholic figurative paintings, his work explores themes of identity, space, and the human condition. He has exhibited extensively internationally and was awarded the Ampersand Fellowship in 2014.
