DESCRIPTION

Rui Matos is a sculptor who studied in Lisbon between 1980 and 1987. Over the course of his career, his practice has evolved from working with stone, clay, and resin toward the use of oxidized and painted iron. His work, which often explores themes of memory, path, and transformation, has been featured in numerous solo and retrospective exhibitions, including at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon. He is represented in major collections, including the Caixa Geral de Depósitos and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
