Eiko Yamazawa was a pioneering Japanese photographer born in Osaka. After studying painting in the US and working as an assistant to Consuelo Kanaga, she returned to Japan to open her own studio. Later in her career, she shifted from commercial photography to abstract, constructed photography, notably her 'What I Am Doing' series.
