Mari Kuroda is a Japanese artist and granddaughter of Western-style painter Jutaro Kuroda. She learned traditional stencil dyeing techniques from her father, Toru Kuroda, and incorporates these methods into her work, which often crosses the boundaries of Western and Japanese painting styles using materials like mud paint, rock paint, ink, and acrylic.
