Peter Eckert is a blind visual artist and photographer based in Sacramento, California. Originally trained in industrial design and carpentry, he began losing his vision in his late 20s due to Retinitis Pigmentosa. He creates his images by constructing mental visualizations and using light painting techniques in a pitch-black studio, often using cameras he has modified with tactile markers. His work has been featured in advertising campaigns for brands such as Volkswagen, Google, and Swarovski.
