Born in Malmö, Sweden, Hannah Ryggen was a prominent weaver known for her political and social engagement. She moved to a remote farm in Ørland, Norway, in 1924, where she created her tapestries using natural dyes and a loom built by her husband. Her work gained international recognition during her lifetime, including exhibitions at the Moderna Museet and the Venice Biennial.
