Giovanni Battista Felice Castagneto was an Italo-Brazilian landscape and seascape painter born in Genoa, Italy. He worked as a sailor before moving to Brazil in 1874, where he studied at the Academia Imperial de Belas Artes and became a prominent figure in the Brazilian art scene.
