Melvin Charney (1935–2012) was a prominent Canadian artist and architect known for his focus on urban space and social context. He studied at McGill and Yale Universities and taught at the Université de Montréal. His notable works include the sculpture garden at the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal and the Canadian Tribute to Human Rights in Ottawa.
