Richard Strange Mortensen was a prominent Danish modernist painter and a co-founder of the 'Linien' school of abstract painters. Influenced by Wassily Kandinsky, he played a significant role in the development of abstract and concrete art in Europe, later settling in Paris where he became associated with the Galerie Denise René.
