Walter Firmo is a renowned Brazilian photographer known for his colorful portraits of Afro-Brazilian musicians and his documentation of Brazilian folklore and popular festivals. He began his career in 1957 as a press photographer and later served as the director of the National Photography Institute at Brazil's National Art Foundation.
