DESCRIPTION

Gérard Castello-Lopes (1925–2011) was a prominent figure in the golden generation of Portuguese photography that emerged in the 1950s. Born in Vichy, France, to a Portuguese father and a French mother, he divided his life between Portugal and France. Beyond his significant contributions to photography, he was active in cinema as a critic and producer, and co-founded the Hot Clube de Portugal in 1948.
