Gohar Dashti is an Iranian visual artist known for her large-scale photography that explores social issues, history, and the intersection of anthropology and sociology. Born in Ahvaz, she was influenced by her childhood experiences during the Iran-Iraq war. Her work often employs a quasi-theatrical, surreal aesthetic to examine themes of conflict, displacement, and the relationship between human life and the natural world. She holds an M.A. in photography from the Tehran University of Art.
