Salvatore 'Sal' Del Deo is a long-time Provincetown-based artist who arrived in the town in 1946 to study painting under mentors such as Henry Hensche and Charles Hawthorne. He became a central figure in the Provincetown art colony, known for documenting the local fishing community and landscape. Beyond his painting career, he was a well-known restaurateur, having co-founded Ciro & Sal’s restaurant.
