Born in Briançon, France, to a Polish father and German mother, Roland Orépük worked as a metal framer and draftsman before studying printmaking at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Grenoble. He is known for his reductive, constructed art, including his 'Yellow Paintings' series.
