Brian O’Doherty was an Irish-American artist, writer, art critic, and educator. He was a pioneering figure in conceptual art, known for his seminal work 'Inside the White Cube' and for adopting the alter ego 'Patrick Ireland' in protest of the Troubles in Northern Ireland. He served as an art critic for The New York Times and was a prolific author and filmmaker.
