Francesco Polenghi (1936–2020) was an Italian painter based in Milan. After studying economics at New York University, he worked in advertising and researched the philosophy of Baruch Spinoza. He spent the 1980s in an Indian ashram studying Hindu philosophy before returning to Italy in 1988 to focus on painting, utilizing a technique of psychic automatism.
