Warli painting
Jivya Soma Mashe was a central figure in Indian tribal art who transformed Warli painting from a ritual-centered, ephemeral practice into an everyday art form. After losing his mother at a young age, he stopped speaking for several years and communicated primarily through drawings. His work gained national and international recognition, notably through his inclusion in the 1989 'Magiciens de la terre' exhibition in Paris.
