Jean-Luc Godard was a highly influential film director, screenwriter, and critic, widely recognized as a pioneer of the French New Wave movement. He gained international acclaim with his 1960 debut feature, Breathless, and continued to challenge cinematic conventions throughout his career with works such as Contempt, Pierrot le Fou, and Vivre sa vie. He passed away in 2022.
