Andrea Pazienza was a prolific Italian comics artist and painter born in 1956. He studied at the University of Bologna and became a key figure in the Italian underground comics scene, co-founding magazines like Frigidaire. He is well-known for creating characters such as Zanardi and Pentothal, and for his diverse work ranging from playful cartoons to dark, autobiographical graphic novels like Pompeo. He passed away in 1988.
