DESCRIPTION

Robin Coste Lewis is an American poet, artist, and scholar born in Compton, California. She is a former Poet Laureate of Los Angeles and a recipient of the National Book Award for Poetry for her debut collection, Voyage of the Sable Venus. Lewis holds degrees from Hampshire College, NYU, Harvard University, and the University of Southern California. In addition to her literary work, she creates text-based installations and works across various visual media, with exhibitions at institutions such as the Huntington Museum and the Underground Museum.
