Painting and printmaking
Giorgio Morandi was an Italian painter and printmaker known for his subtle, muted still-life paintings of ceramic vessels, flowers, and landscapes. He lived his entire life in Bologna and, while aware of avant-garde movements like Futurism and metaphysical art, he remained a solitary figure who refused to align with any specific artistic group.
