Katharina Bosse was born in 1968 in Turku, Finland, and grew up in Montreal, Canada, and Kirchzarten, Germany. She studied visual communications at Fachhochschule Bielefeld, lived in New York during the 1990s where she created her acclaimed series 'New Burlesque', and later returned to Germany to raise her children and teach photography in Bielefeld. Her long-term projects explore gender and biography through portraiture and experimental photography.
