Sculpture, video, photography, drawing, sound
Patrik Pion was born in 1954 in Valigny, France, and lives and works in Bagnolet near Paris. His artistic practice draws on psychoanalysis and philosophy, combining sculpture, photography, drawing, video, and sound into ensembles evoking mental images. He is particularly recognized for his 'objets blancs'—sculptures of everyday items constructed from folded, crumpled, and stapled blank newspaper—a method he developed during more than twenty years working as an artist in workshops at the George Sand Psychiatric Hospital in Bourges. Pion has exhibited at institutions such as the Palais de Tokyo, Centre d'art contemporain - la synagogue de Delme, and the CCCOD in Tours.
