Bruno Giorgi was a Brazilian sculptor born in Mococa, São Paulo, to Italian parents. After spending part of his youth and studying art in Italy, he was imprisoned in 1931 for anti-fascist activities. He later went to Paris to train at the Académie Ranson and Académie de la Grande Chaumière before returning to Brazil, where he became renowned for monumental public sculptures such as Os Candangos in Brasília.
