DESCRIPTION

Rodrigo Andrade began his career in São Paulo in the 1980s as part of the influential artists' collective Casa 7 alongside figures like Carlito Carvalhosa, Nuno Ramos, Paulo Monteiro, and Fabio Miguez. Influenced early on by German Neo-Expressionism, his oeuvre explores the materiality and expressive limits of painting, spanning enamel on kraft paper, monochrome and geometric abstractions, thick impasto works, bronze works, and photorealistic landscapes and nocturnal scenes. He participated in the 29th Bienal de São Paulo and has exhibited widely at institutions including the Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo.
