Alexandre Sant'Anna was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1955. He studied film at the London International Film School and photography at the International Center of Photography in New York. He worked for prominent Brazilian publications including Veja, Época, Isto É, and Domingo (Jornal do Brasil), and is known for fine art analog photography series such as 'Negro' exploring the Amazon Forest.
