Miguel Afa began his visual arts practice in 2001 through graffiti in the streets of Complexo do Alemão in Rio de Janeiro before studying at the School of Fine Arts (UFRJ). His practice has transitioned from street art to studio-based painting, exploring memory, affection, and everyday life in Brazil.
