Oskar Dawicki was born on July 28, 1971, in Warsaw. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń in 1996 with a diploma in painting, citing performance artist Zbigniew Warpechowski as his mentor. Known as a prominent performer and conceptual artist, his work frequently incorporates irony, existential questioning, and his signature blue jacket.
