Liu Yi was born in Ningbo, China, in 1990. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the China Academy of Art's School of Intermedia Art in 2012 and 2016. Her practice focuses on early Chinese art films, experimental animation, video, and multimedia spatial installations.
