Lukas Jasansky and Martin Polak form a prominent Czech artist duo known for their conceptual approach to photography. Collaborating since the mid-1980s, they create extensive typological series that explore the paradoxes of the photographic image. Their work is characterized by irony and deadpan humor, documenting everyday life and banal subjects to question the medium's relationship to reality. They have significantly influenced post-conceptual photography in the Czech Republic and abroad.
