Born and raised in Beijing, Yin Xiuzhen graduated from Capital Normal University of Beijing in 1989. She is a prominent contemporary Chinese artist known for sculptures and immersive installations that frequently utilize secondhand clothing, fabric, concrete, and found objects to explore personal memory, kinship, and the rapid social and architectural transformations of modern China.
