Shai Azoulay was born in Kiryat Shmona, Israel. He studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, earning both his BFA and MFA, and later became a faculty member there. Living and working in Jerusalem, he is known for colorful, symbolic, and narrative paintings depicting enigmatic scenes.
