Andrea Mantegna was an Italian Early Renaissance painter and engraver from the Venetian Republic. Renowned for his mastery of perspective, foreshortening, and illusionistic ceiling paintings, he served as court painter to the Gonzaga family in Mantua, creating famous works such as the frescoes in the Camera degli Sposi.
