Eva Beresin was born in 1955 in Budapest, Hungary, and later moved to Vienna, Austria. Her work is recognized for its grotesque humor, self-irony, and melancholy, informed by fragments of 1960s counterculture and life under the Soviet system. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest and has lived and worked in Vienna for many years.
