Élisabeth Louise Vigée-LeBrun was one of the most prominent French portraitists of the late 18th century and served as the primary court painter to Queen Marie Antoinette. Over her long career, which continued in exile across Europe during the French Revolution, she produced more than 600 portraits, capturing the elegance of the European aristocracy.
