Painting and gilding
Kay Jackson is a Washington, DC-based artist who specializes in ancient gilding techniques and old master oil painting methods. Born in Texas, she earned an MFA from George Washington University. Her work often addresses environmental concerns, such as endangered species and climate change, by creating modern "icons" through the use of gold and copper leaf on gessoed panels.
