Wolf Kahn was a German-born American painter who became one of the most celebrated landscape artists of his time. After fleeing Nazi Germany as a child, he studied in New York under Hans Hofmann. His signature style combined the formal discipline of Color Field abstraction with representational landscape, resulting in luminous, color-driven scenes of New England and beyond.
