DESCRIPTION

Mona Hatoum was born in Beirut to a Palestinian family and was forced into exile in London following the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War in 1975. Her multidisciplinary practice encompasses performance, video, sculpture, and large-scale installation. She is renowned for transforming domestic objects—such as kitchen utensils and furniture—into threatening or uncanny structures that address themes of displacement, state control, and the vulnerability of the human body.
