Painting and Caricature
Lyonel Feininger was a German-American artist and a leading figure in the Expressionist movement. He was one of the first faculty members at the Bauhaus, invited by Walter Gropius. His signature style involved 'Prismism,' where he used overlapping transparent planes of color to create fractured, crystalline depictions of architecture, landscapes, and maritime scenes.
