DESCRIPTION
Peter Buchman is a New York-based multidisciplinary artist born in Jacksonville, Florida. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, his work focuses on representational pop-art with dense, textured surfaces. He is known for his 'voice-over' paintings that integrate text and cultural references, as well as his 'Art Brut' immigrant portraits. His practice often involves layering materials like wood, plexiglass, and resin, which are then excavated to reveal underlying narratives.
