James Kennedy is an Irish painter living in New York. Best known for his geometric abstractions on Masonite panels, his work builds complex layers of acrylic paint and oil washes to create shallow reliefs. He studied at the Royal Scottish Academy and the London School of Contemporary Dance. In 2006, he co-founded the Surface Library Gallery + Atelier in the Hudson Valley.
