Bernard Chaet was an American modernist painter and a highly influential educator who taught at Yale University for 40 years. He was the author of the seminal text 'The Art of Drawing.' His work focused on expressionistic landscapes, still lifes, and figurative compositions, characterized by a rhythmic application of color and light derived from close observation of the natural world.
