Liv Aanrud

Liv Aanrud is a Los Angeles-based artist known for her work in textiles and painting. Born in rural Wisconsin, she earned her BFA from the University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire and her MFA from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. Her practice focuses on a unique hybrid of rug hooking and painting, which she refers to as soft sculptural drawings. Her work often features figurative imagery and explores themes of labor, time, and female identity.
