Betty Lane was a modernist painter known for her expressive landscapes, portraits, and woodblock prints. She studied in Paris under André Lhote and was mentored by collector Duncan Phillips. Lane spent much of her career in New York and Cape Cod, maintaining a dedicated artistic practice alongside her career as a teacher.
