Tony Bechara was a New York-based Puerto Rican artist recognized for his vibrant abstract paintings that use thousands of small, hand-painted squares to investigate color theory and optical perception. He served as the long-time Chairman of the Board of El Museo del Barrio and was an advocate for Latinx and Latin American artists.
