Painting and Poetry
DESCRIPTION
Elise Asher was an American artist and poet known for her unique "lexigrams," which blended calligraphic handwriting with abstract painting. Her work often integrated her own poetry and the verses of others, such as her husband, Poet Laureate Stanley Kunitz, into atmospheric oil and plexiglass compositions.
