Alexander Bustamante is a first-generation American multidisciplinary artist and educator born in 1976. His work utilizes installations, site-specific projects, sculpture, and painting to examine the roles of race and class in urban American society. He holds a B.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts and an M.F.A. from Hunter College. Bustamante has served as a museum educator at the Smithsonian Institution and the Studio Museum in Harlem, and his work has been exhibited at venues such as MANA Contemporary and the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning.
