Dame Sonia Boyce DBE RA is a prominent British Afro-Caribbean artist who rose to prominence in the 1980s as a key figure in the Black British Arts Movement. Her work, which includes drawing, photography, installation, and video, explores themes of race, gender, and social history. In 2022, she was the first Black woman to represent Great Britain at the Venice Biennale, where she was awarded the Golden Lion for Best National Participation for her installation 'Feeling Her Way'. She is also a Professor of Black Art and Design at the University of the Arts London.
