Yoel Benharrouche was born in Beersheba, Israel, in 1961 to parents of North African origin. In 1974, he moved to Nice, France, where he completed his artistic training at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and later became a professor of drawing and painting. He returned to Israel in 1993, settling near the Judean Desert. His artwork is deeply influenced by Jewish mysticism and the Kabbalah, characterized by a vibrant use of color and a lyrical style that fuses figurative elements with abstract forms to explore the connection between the material and spiritual worlds.
